Scented thoughts....

Decided it was time to go see my lovely friends at Penhaligon's today. And then transported to the Moulin Rouge in Paris via the Bosphorus.

Whilst in Edinburgh I was instructed to go try the Histories de Parfums fragrances and right now, currently obsessed with the composition "Moulin Rouge". Very similar to L'Artisan Parfumeur's "Traversee du Bosphore". Both (to my nose..) are centered round delicate rose notes at the heart mixed with a sugar accord which is rather persistent in both the fragrances. A rather grand animalic leather facet beefs up both fragrance in the lower heart and base, never allowing them to weaken into a timid wall flower.

I found Traversee du Bosphore a little more rubbery and metallic which makes sense due to the inclusion of Tulip and Saffron (respectively). One of the main themes in this fragrance was the Loukhum/Turkish delight which incidentally is one of my favorite things in the whole wide world...

where as Moulin Rouge was a lot mellower and melancholy thanks to another one of my favorite things.... Iris.
Just a quick post containing fragrance thoughts
