Rough Trade

not quite. T in the park 15 minutes from my home, tickets waiting to be used..... decided to trade it in for a weekend of socialising with some of my closest friends and "extended family" at Chateau Jobson. Celebrated the 13 years existence of Hope Hairdressing, a leading salon in Scotland and the place I call a second home (oh and work one day per week).

Wasnt quite BBQ weather but we had fun. Champagne was flowing, cocktails were mixed (by yours truly), Campari was drank, Gin was guzzled.... the laughs and photos tell a great story.

On a different note, new Penhaligons "Anthology" collection fragrances have hit the stores. Eau sans Pareil and Esprit du Roi. Smelling them at different stages of their development, I can say these babies are must haves. Looking forward to comparing the fragrances I had the pleasure of smelling and the final signed off version, hopefully nothing has changed and if it has..... lets hope its for the better.

Continuing on a smelly note, another installment of Perfume on the BBC was broadcast last night. This episode looked at the opposite sides of the spectrum.

Family owned and relaunched niche house Grossmith and how the Brooks are trying to expand and develop an old distinguished perfume house.

The flip side, how industry leaders Firmenich, Givaudan and the IFF are spending millions on scent development and making hundreds of millions from "low" fragrance ie. deodorants, soaps, detergents etc.

On the whole, rather good apart from Roja Dove prancing about with testers of Civet. Run Away indeed.  Anne Gottleib looking rather old now, Dear Estée Lauder......
