Fancy this

This past month has been one of the busiest in my entire life. Hence no posting on justanothermanabouttown. BUT, last month had one of the biggest pulls view wise since I started this blog early last year. I plan to be posting regularly from now on but if you log in for the images I use then it may be easier for you to follow me on Fancy too.

A beautiful platform dedicated to uploading and "fancying" other users images you like.

The users or community leaves much to be desired, passions and emotions run high and sometimes the level drops to that of a playground but as a means of obtaining beautiful images pulled from all over the globe and internet then Fancy is extremely useful.

Stylus.....t

Have been a busy bee this past week. What with going to see Arcade Fire play the ethereal Edinburgh Castle esplanade and a somewhat busy workload.

My day's off have been spent catching up with friends, arranging flat viewings and looking out for stunning "new" artists, designer's and obviously sniffing out the constant barrage of new fragrances hitting us this autumn.... delightful.

I would like to direct your attention here.... below I mean.

Released today, oki-ni's latest 'Styled' by series. This time oki-ni present us with the splendor of Mark McMahon. McMahon's background covers all aspects of the fashion industry. He has experience in styling and consultancy for Fantastic Man, Vogue and i-D, he has worked in PR and also runs his own design label and boutique "Urban Dandy"

And a little more from Mark....

Sunday. Sun. Day. Day of Sun.

Its a sad time when mankind ventures into the territory of a wild animal and the end result is a dead animal. Campers in the Arctic on an adventure outside of the village boundaries, polar bear attacks and kills a teenager and is then killed for its actions, only natural. Sad time when people are killed but somewhat outrageous the poor animal had to perish also. Sad times all round. You homosapiens and your guns. Utterly outraged that every news paper plastered images of the poor bears blood drenched face like some kind of trophy. Urgh!

Saturday evening spent drinking my way through 8 Bombay Sapphire and slim line tonics and then dinner at my friends polishing off a lovely bottle of vin rouge. Time spent in the company of beautiful people, stunning house and an amazing cat and dog.

September, "Edinborough" castle, Bryan Ferry.... this could be a fun outing. Better to see these dinosaurs before they are dead. Slave to love.

Androgyny.... quite possibly my favorite AW trend. Apart from that "fetish" trend, only in the bedroom!

Straight hair.... my mind has been preoccupied with that recurring thought of a loose perm/body wave. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Decisions.

On the whole the world (in general) has gone mad, America's financials are screwed and ready to take everyone else out with them, animals are gunning down kids in Norway and bombing buildings, polar bears are being killed for acting this POLAR BEARS, people are going nuts over the Taliban shooting down a US chopper...... and the place is just fucked. Over and out. Good night. Im away for a camp-soda

Lobster. Anyone?

Why is it that in Scotland when the sun comes out the men take off their tops to expose their transparent skin and the women wear what can only be described as a bandana round their breast and a dish towel round their genitals?? why? just why?

I have summered all over the world and every other nationality show dignity and a little respect by making sure they dress appropriately and are sensibly covered.

Men still show their stylish side in lighter fabrics and showing just the right amount of skin,

and the women are always impeccably turned out no matter the temperature

apart from Brazil but then most Brazilians have athletic, toned, bronze skin and lets be honest 90% of the population are easy on the eye.....

Time for emigration/booking myself away for the summer/taking a mini gatling gun out with me.

Scotland, you really are a classy lot.

Im digging these.

Just a quick post highlighting some of my new favorite blogs, ones which I have been keeping an eye on just recently. I do have many many many blogs/sites i frequent and have done for years but these are a few that I have just recently stumbled across and have been enjoying.... hope you will too,

Coute Que Coute - Meanderings on fashion, design and pop culture with some really great high res images.
Sebastian Ingrosso - Talented producer/Dj/Record label owners blog, contains a bit of everything.
Olfactorialist - Short and precise views on fragrances. Gives a pretty nice "feel" for  scents, nothing too techy etc. Worth a look, not the best but does a nae too bad job.

and, not to forget....
A Scent of Elegance. - my friends amazing blog intertwining the world with fragrance highlighting its significance..... memory and mortality.

A Kill-er Wedding.

1st of July, Cotswolds seemed to be thee place to be. Kate Moss and Jamie Hince tied the knot and in an elegant, understated way.

Moss in a biased cut John Galliano dress, bespoke BLUE soled Louboutins.

Hince in Stefano Pilati YSL Baby blue double breasted suit (note the worn in boots, now thats RAWK en Rolle)

The shindig cost a reported $1 million and was just...... lovely as Mossey herself.

Magical...

Hince's best man, bandmate Alison Mosshart seemingly bored the wedding party and guests.... no wonder, her speaking voice makes Ben Stein sound like an excited Lee Evans. (NOTE: I hate Lee Evans. Cock!)
Bueller, Bueller, Bueller......

Moss's hair was styled by mega stylist Sam Mcknight and not best buddy James Brown. RESULT!

Ps. I do <3 The Kills, Jamie Hince and also Kate Moss. Mah-Veh-Louhs!!

Kat McDonald

It is rare and just a tad touching to find such a high pedigree of talent on your doorstop. Enter Kat McDonald, photographer extraordinaire...

http://www.facebook.com/KatMcDonaldPhotography

With the flair and unflinching eye for detail akin to the haute fashion pack, Testino, Meisel and Von Unwerth and aesthetic styling paralleling with the worlds of Yanick Dery, Akif Halkn Celebi, Amanda de Cadenet and Gyslain Yarhi.

This said upon meandering through Kat's finely tailored folders of images you soon realise she interprets each "scenario" in her own unique way.

Hats off, she always astounds with her choice/sourcing of impeccable models and locations.

Within her portfolio of work you will discover an entire spectrum of works ranging from a daily "365" project,

high fashion,

shots of musical "royalty" (Bryan Ferry......)

as well as a collection of creative iPhone snaps of everyday objects and experiences endured on a daily basis

Like all great artists its evident that Kat has her muses or more appropriately a select handful of Femme Fatales..... utterly ravishing to say the least.

Aside from her acclaimed photographic work K. McDonald is also the voice of notable  electronic outfit Little Buddha. Which in itself is an entire different post.
